For Armenia’s 35th Independence Day celebration, C-Squared delivered large-scale architectural wall projection mapping and an atmospheric laser show across the iconic stone facades of Republic Square in Yerevan. Partnering with Background Production (who spearheaded the creative concept and overall direction), C-Squared executed the technical multi-building projection installation and aerial laser deployment for the official pre-concert show.
Project Overview
Partner: Background Production
Project Name: Armenia Independence Day Celebration
Date: September 21, 2026
Venue: Republic Square, Yerevan, Armenia
C-Squared Scope: Multi-building 3D architectural wall projection mapping, high-power laser show deployment, long-throw optical projector calibration, signal routing, and live show control
Background Production commissioned C-Squared as the technical visual and laser execution partner for the national holiday event. Following Background Production’s creative direction, the brief required transforming the monumental tufa-stone architecture of Republic Square into a massive digital canvas using non-invasive wall projection, paired with high-power laser routines to frame the square before the main anniversary concert.
Executing projection mapping across multiple large-scale government buildings in an expansive open-air plaza presented significant technical hurdles. The setup required long-throw optical calibration to maintain crisp resolution and vivid color depth across textured pink tufa stone surfaces, while coordinating high-brightness laser arrays safely over the high-density crowd gathered in Republic Square.
Multi-Building Surface Mapping: Positioned heavy-duty, high-lumen projector arrays across the square, using spatial warping and blending software to align visuals seamlessly across the curved architectural facades and arches of Republic Square.
Atmospheric Laser System Integration: Deployed high-power laser systems around the perimeter, projecting sharp geometric grid lines, volumetric beams, and aerial light sweeps extending across the open square.
Synchronized Show Control: Managed low-latency video and laser signal routing from the master control desk, ensuring precise synchronization between projected visual narratives and atmospheric laser cues during the pre-concert spectacle.
Delivered continuous, high-contrast architectural projection mapping and atmospheric laser routines across Republic Square throughout the national celebration without hardware disruption or signal latency.
Installed, operated, and dismantled all temporary projection and laser equipment without causing physical contact or damage to the historic site masonry.
